Rashmi Kumar

Rashmi Kumar

Rashmi Kumar is a carer for a family member with long-term multiple health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes. Rashmi has lived-experience of the physical and psychological challenges patients and families face every day, and how with a little support their physical and emotional health wellbeing can be significantly improved.

Rashmi lives in south London, which has large, diverse and significantly socio-economically disadvantaged community.

Research interests

At King’s Improvement Science, Rashmi has supported our research exploring patient preferences and experiences of waiting for heart surgery and is a member of our governance team. He is particularly interested in supporting the inclusive involvement of diverse patients and public in research.

He has supported many voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, and is a trustee of a large Patient and Public Participation Group (PPG) Network, engaging and working with local community groups, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), GP practices and Integrated Care Systems and partnerships.
